Privacy Statement

As a public service, the HHSC 2-1-1 Texas website allows website users to electronically submit to the Health and Human Services Commission and to local Area Information Centers e-mails requesting information or assistance. When you send us personal identifying information in a message containing a question or comment by contacting us via e-mail or by filling out our on-line form that e-mails us this information, we use it to respond to your requests. In doing so, we may forward your e-mail or information to other State employees, State contract personnel and/or 2-1-1 service providers who are better able to assist you. We do not provide the content of these e-mails to any other entity, except as required by law or pursuant to a court order.

We strongly suggest that you do NOT submit private, personal, or medical information via these emails.

We do not retain or distribute lists of e-mail addresses to any parties outside HHSC, except as necessary to conduct official State business, and we do not distribute lists of e-mail addresses to non-Governmental entities. 2-1-1 Texas does not retain copies of your e-mail requests or questions, but merely forwards them as appropriate. Child Care Referrals

Registered users can fill out a questionnaire to request referrals to local child care providers. Personal information collected through this questionnaire will be forwarded to a registered child care referral agency and will only be used for the purpose of providing the requested service.

Application Forms

In the future, the Texas I&R Network may allow users to apply for or to be screened for public assistance programs online. Personal information collected through these forms will be forwarded to the appropriate agency and will only be used for the purpose of providing the requested service.

Use of Cookie Files

This website uses temporary session cookies for some activities, such as verifying whether you are signed in, keeping track of your search results, and creating server logs. However these session cookies are deleted when you exit the website or close your browser. We do not use cookies to collect personal information.

Server Logs and Network Security Systems

The Texas I&R Network uses server logs and server log analysis tools to create summary statistics about the use of this website. The summary statistics are used for purposes such as assessing what information is of most interest to users, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance or problem areas.
